How a Driverless Car Sees the Road

How a Diverless Car Sees the Road

A driverless car is a car that drives itself, but how does it see what is going on, on the road? Well, there is a program, that takes in what is around it, in the program. People who designed the program, put in all different things in the world, like a bicyclist, or a person crossing to road. The different cars on the road are boxes, as you see in the video. The car has a sensor on the top of its roof, and that is how it can see everything.

1. What if the car got into a crash, and the sensor is smashed or got knocked off? How much would it cost to get it replaced?
2. How much gas mileage does it get?

  1. I think the cost for repairing the senors would be very costly, as much work was put in to making and programming these sensors.
Also the gas mileage would be probably the same amount as an average car.

  2. I think it would probably cost more than the normal car that gets into a crash. But, it would avoid the because it doesn't have any destractions

  3. 1. I think the sensors would be very expensive, almost as much as the car cost.
    2. I think that the gas mileage for a driver-less car would probably be the same as a normal car.
